Fluid Painting #9

Watch this painting in progress!

While I try to plan my paintings, there’s no way to predict exactly how fluid acrylics will interact with each other, and therefore each piece is an exciting adventure! I created the sky with what is called a “dirty pour”; all the paints are poured into a cup and then emptied onto the canvas to spread out and do its magic. Colour choice and the right ingredients make all the difference, I’m finding.

The snow was applied by pouring each colour separately and then manipulating the paint while still wet.

Overall, the piece is modern and somewhat masculine, with a neutral colour palette. I’ve titled it, “Certainty and Expectation”, and it is part of “The Four Seasons” series. You can learn more about it here.
