Time well spent!

My niece, Ava, spent the evening with me – and what better way to spend an evening than creating something special together!

We started with silver wire, which Ava had to measure and saw herself. Then she had to bend the wire and hammer it around a mandrel to shape it to size. We took it to the soldering station (my kitchen) where she learned how to apply flux and solder, and how to light and hold the torch. Once the ring was soldered, she learned how to pickle it to remove the tarnish and then we soldered a bezel cup to the shaft. After which, Ava placed her moonstone and Auntie Lisa helped set the stone.

Now, Ava has a nice little ring she can treasure, along with her memories!
